Bio: 
<p><strong>Handel Lee</strong>, based in Beijing, is a Partner at King &amp; Wood, the largest law firm in mainland China. He is also the entrepreneur and art collector behind projects such as &ldquo;Three on the Bund&rdquo; in Shanghai, a lifestyle complex that includes fine dining restaurants such as Jean-Georges, a contemporary art center, and luxury retail shopping, and &ldquo;The Courtyard&rdquo; in Beijing, a restaurant and China&rsquo;s first independent contemporary art gallery.</p> <p>Lee is a distinguished lawyer, and is often cited in various legal, trade, and news media, including the <em>International Financial Law Review</em>, <em>Asian Law and Practice</em>, <em>The</em> <em>Wall Street Journal</em>, <em>The South China Morning Pos</em>t, and <em>The China Business Review</em>.</p> <p>Lee received a BA from the University of Virginia and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.</p>

Emmanuel Ojukwu

<p><strong>Emmanuel Ojukwu</strong> is a Nigerian entrepreneur and community leader in Guangzhou, China. Ojukwu moved to Guangzhou in 2004 and shortly thereafter was chosen to be the president of the Nigerian Community in China.</p> <p>Ojukwu acts as a liaison between the growing Nigerian community of Guangzhou, estimated at 5,000-7,000, and the Chinese, and has largely succeeded in reshaping relations with the Chinese government. He is also lobbying the Nigerian government to open a consulate in Guangzhou in order to normalize relations between the community and the Chinese government.</p>

David Zhang

<p><strong>David Zhang</strong> is a founding managing partner of Matrix Partners China, a leading venture capital fund, and oversees all its China operations. Previously, he was the managing director and Beijing office head for WI Harper, another venture capital firm, where he oversaw all investments, portfolio management and operations in both life sciences and IT in China. David joined WI Harper in late 2001 as an associate in the San Francisco office and moved back to China in 2003. Prior to joining WI Harper, he spent time at ABN AMRO Capital and before that at Salomon Smith Barney, the investment banking arm of Citicorp. He also contributed to studies at UCSF as a research associate and participated in the High Throughput Genotyping Project for multiple sclerosis for the Department of Neurology. David was born in Shanghai, grew up in the United States and holds a MS in Biotechnology and Business from Northwestern University and a BS in Biology and Chemistry from California State University, San Francisco.</p>

David Wei

<p><strong>David Wei</strong>, born in mainland China in 1970, is the CEO of Alibaba.com, the world's largest online business-to-business trading platform. Wei was president, from 2002 to 2006, and chief financial officer from 2000 to 2002, of B&amp;Q China, a subsidiary of Kingfisher plc, a leading home improvement retailer in Europe and Asia. Under his leadership, B&amp;Q China grew to become China's largest home improvement retailer. From 1998 to 2000, Wei served as corporate finance manager at Coopers &amp; Lybrand, now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers, from 1995 to 1998. Wei held non-executive directorship positions in HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited and the China Advisory Board of IMI plc, a FTSE 250 company. He holds a bachelor's degree in International Business Management from Shanghai International Studies University and is a graduate of the Corporate Finance Program at the London Business School.</p>

Cui Zhiyuan

<p><strong>Cui Zhiyuan</strong> teaches Comparative Public Policy and Governance and Development at Tsinghua University. As a graduate of China's National University of Defense Technology, Cui went on to obtain both an MA and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago. Chen Qi

<p><strong>Chen Qi</strong> is one of the founders of 360Quan.com, a leading social networking site for teens in China. In 2001, Chen graduated from Beijing Normal University with a degree in Economics. Following his graduation, Chen became a journalist at China Central Television, the state owned news station, and holds the distinction of having been the first network journalist to report from the Advanced Base Camp of Mount Everest, at an elevation of over 21000 feet above sea level. After leaving CCTV, Chen served as the communications director for Conservation International in China.</p> <p>360Quan.com was started in 2007, and as of Jan 2008 there were more than 22 million people using 360Quan each month. Following Koolanoo Group's investment in 360Quan, Chen became the chief operating officer of Koolanoo Group, a post he holds today.

Chen Ailian

<p><strong>Chen Ailian</strong>, virtuoso dancer and choreographer, was born in 1939 in Shanghai. She graduated from Beijing Dance School and went on to teach at the Beijing College of Dancing, Nan Kai University, and Hainan University. As a performer, she held the position of chief dancer and actress at the China Opera and Dancing House as well as chief dancer of the Chinese Artistic delegation to over a dozen countries.</p> <p>Chen is also the founder and Head of the Chen Ailian Artistic Troupe, which is the first non-governmental performing organization in China, and has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Chinese Dancers' Association.</p>

<p><strong>Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky</strong> served as the US Trade Representative (USTR)&mdash;the chief trade negotiator and principal trade policymaker for the United States&mdash;from 1997 to 2001, and acting and deputy USTR from 1993 to 1996. <p><strong>Brad Setser</strong> serves as the director of International Economics for the National Economic Council. He was previously a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a senior economist at RGE Monitor, an online financial information service. He served at the US Treasury Department from 1997 to 2001, where he concluded his tenure as the acting director of the Office of International Monetary and Financial Policy, and spent 2002 as a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund. Bi-khim Hsiao

<p><strong>Bi-khim Hsiao</strong>, a member of Taiwan 's Legislative Yuan, was born in Kobe, Japan and grew up in Tainan, a city in southern Taiwan. She received an MA in Political Science from Columbia University, and a BA in East Asian Studies from Oberlin College before becoming active in Taiwanese politics over a decade ago.</p> <p>Hsiao, who was involved in President Chen Shui-bian's 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns as a spokesperson and international affairs director, became an advisor to President Chen in 2000 and was first elected to the legislature in December 2001.</p> <p>As a member of the Foreign Relations Committee since her tenure in the 5th Legislature, Hsiao has been regarded as a strong and respected diplomat by her colleagues in the Legislative Yuan and by the foreign diplomatic community. Hsiao has placed great emphasis on human and civil rights issues including gender equality, immigrant rights, privacy rights, and gay rights.</p> <p>In 2006, she was selected by Asia Society to join the <a href="http://asiasociety.org/asia21-young-leaders/">Asia 21 Young Leaders Initiative</a>.</p>
